About the marching band
Sharyland High School Rattler Marching Band
Sharyland HS is a 5A high school located in Mission, TX. The school maintains a reputation of academic excellence in the state of Texas. The School’s Mission of “providing a positive environment for learning, encouraging students to work to their full potential, and expecting each to succeed” is a perfect fit for the purpose of our music program.
The SHS Band, with over 150 musicians, is the largest student organization on the Sharyland High School Campus. Our band members are some of the most involved students on campus. Our students excel musically and academically. The majority of the our school’s Top 10 Seniors are band students.
The Rattler Band has consistently achieved first divisions and area placements in UIL Marching Contests. Our competition schedule includes BOA and USSBA contests. We also support our Rattler Football team at all football games.

The Sharyland High School Marching Band is one of the finest groups in South Texas. The band has consistently earned 1st divisions at UIL Marching Contest, qualified for Area, and has earned a trip to State Contest 7 times.
